Whimsy

Sometimes it is important to let yourself play, creatively. Whimsy is a little basket where I gave myself the freedom to start with no particular direction in mind.

I began with the tiny cordage basket, which became the lid for the main basket and as I continued working it reminded me of a perfume bottle, so I let it take that direction.

Whimsy is worked in linen embroidery thread, with a flax upholstery twine core. The cordage for the lid is also made with linen embroidery thread.
