Montrose is a town that is rich in history and nature. Positioned between the rivers North Esk and South Esk, and right on the coast, there is always something beautiful waiting to be found and always new walks to be explored.
One of my little walking adventures took me under the railway bridge and along the sandy banks of the river South Esk. Here the treasures are a mix of natural beauties and manmade fragments, like this pottery piece.
South Esk 9 is a piece of worn pottery, framed with raffia coil work. The raffia has been dyed with creeping willow that grows close to our house.
