Montrose is a town that is rich in history and nature. Positioned between the rivers North Esk and South Esk, and right on the coast, there is always something beautiful waiting to be found and always new walks to be explored.
One of my little walking adventures took me under the railway bridge and along the sandy banks of the river South Esk. Here the treasures are a mix of pieces of pottery and glass (because of its position, right next to the town), but also lots of natural beauties, like this vesicular basalt.
South Esk - 6 is a piece of vesicular basalt which I have cocooned in a raffia coil basket.
