Each of my Something to Treasure boxes contain five tiny treasures, collected from the shoreline on my walks in the Orkney Islands.
Collected over several years, the familiarity of these found fragments, has been a great help in the process of relocating from our beautiful islands home, to our new chapter on the East Coast of Scotland. Out of all of our senses, I often feel that the sense of touch brings the most reassurance and these cocooned pieces of pottery, sea glass and shell are perfect to hold in your hand.
Each tiny treasure is cocooned in a flax yarn basket and the box is wrapped and tied with a piece of cordage made from foraged plants.
The treasures vary in size and are irregular shapes, so please refer to the photos of them being held for a sense of scale.
