Seaweed

The coast is as much a part of our life here as it was in the Orkney Islands. There are so many wonderful beaches, both rocky and sandy, to explore along the East Coast of Scotland and plenty of pools and ledges covered in a thick drifting carpet of varied seaweeds to enjoy.

Seaweed is a coil basket made with linen embroidery thread, with a flax upholstery twine core. The design is based on some of sketches and photos of seaweeds found here.
