Sea Campion

The ledges and cliffs near our home are full of sea campion in the springtime, bobbing their white blooms in the sea breeze. Beneath the petals are balloon-like calyx tubes, which hold the seeds when the flowers fade.

My design for this tiny basket, is based on these seed pods and I have worked it in coastal coloured linen embroidery threads, with a flax upholstery twine core.
