Little Ripple is a chestnut brown, False Limpet shell, cocooned and surrounded by its own Phormium Tenax ripple.
My two youngest daughters love to drop seashells into the sea, from the end of the pier, to watch the ripples. I love watching them too. There is something so soothing about the motion of the water.
Following on from pieces made with linen thread last autumn, I wanted to create my own basketry ripple. The False Limpet Shell was found at East side beach in South Ronaldsay and the Phormium Tenax was gathered from a friends garden.
