East Coast

East Coast is a piece of bark washed up on the shoreline by the little fishing village of Johnshaven, on the East Coast of Scotland.

A short drive from our home, this area of coast is rich in agates and jaspers and has already become a favourite walk.

It has been such a pleasure to immerse ourselves in the wonderful variety of trees around our new home and it was a delight for me to find this piece of bark, so rich in colour and texture and to cocoon it in a basketry frame, made from flax yarn.

I have added a loop to the back of this piece, so that it can be displayed on a wall.
