A Tale of Two Crafts is a series of collaborative pieces made with Michael Sinclair which bring together two ancient crafts - woodturning and basketry.

This piece is the third in the series and Michael has used an off cut from instrument making to create a Padauk Neolithic inspired thumb pot. He has then applied a pyrography detail in the bottom of the bowl and it has been finished with oil and wax and finally, buffed.

Our collaboration is a conversation between two crafts and two craftspeople. My reply to Michael's thumb pot is a basketry rim, made with hand stripped Phormium Tenax fibres, gathered from Michael's garden.
