This little quilted book is very close to my heart. It is a book about taking time. Time to breathe. Time to count your blessings. Time to be with the people you love and time for yourself.
The coast has always offered me that time. My camera roll is full of memories of bright smiles, windswept hair and creatures and treasures, that I have found with my children over the years.
The book reads
" Take a moment to breathe, catch the salt on your tongue"
My youngest daughter always says that she loves to taste the salt in the air when she's by the sea!
It has all been hand-stitched. The hours spent on hundreds of tiny stitches to applique and embroider each page, echo the times that we all need, to step away from this busy world for a while and feel centred again.
I have used leftover fabrics and threads from past projects and included some paper beads that I made recently, as fasteners.
If you love to be by the sea, like me, you will probably have picked up some tiny treasures along the way, so I have sewn a little pocket into the back of the book - to keep them safe.
