A Break in the Weather


A set of five cocooned sea treasures in Phormium Tenax baskets.



There's no doubt that autumn is in full swing here in the Orkney Islands. Now that October has arrived, time spent outdoors becomes precious and we make the most of every break in the weather.

The wind and rough seas wash up all sorts of little treasures and with the busy work of summer done, the simple pleasure of walking and discovery brings a brightness to our autumn days.

"A Break in the Weather is a set of five little treasures, gathered from the local shoreline and cocooned in their own Phormium Tenax fibre baskets.

The Phormium was gathered in a friend's garden and has been hand-stripped and cleaned.

Size approx : Rayed Artemis shell 5.5cm diameter,   limpet shell 5 x 4.5 x 3cm,  sea pottery 6.5 x x4 x 1.5cm,  exposed aggregate concrete 6 x 4 x 1.5cm, terracotta 4 x 5 x 1.5cm

The large rock is for display only and is not part of the set.
